A hidden treasure cradled amidst the heart of Santa Ana, is the historic, yet timeless, Wilshire Square. When you enter this charming neighborhood, once home to a young Marlon Brando, you are sure to experience the warmth of days long past. William J. Cheney, a founder of Farmers Insurance, was so fond of it that he selected to build his retirement home here on Ross Street in 1938. Not much has changed since then, as the neighborhood has maintained it’s vintage appeal.

Mature tree-lined streets, period concrete lampposts, well-manicured lawns, a strong sense of family, and uniqueness to each and every home will instantly embrace you. The 650+ homes range in style from Tudor, Spanish Colonial, and Mediterranean to California Bungalow, with many of the homes being built between 1922-1942.

This community boasts an annual home and garden tour and various social events throughout the year, in addition to having it's own website, newsletter, and an association that focuses more on revitalization and preservation than rules and regulations. This is one rare occurrence of history preserved and it is very clear that it will continue to be for many years to come.
